It's once again that time of year! No, it's not quite time to start thinking about dragging out the Christmas lights and decorations, but it's the time that my family starts thinking about getting our family Christmas picture taken and ordering our cards! For the last few years we have ordered from Shutterfly and I have been so impressed with the choices they offer and the quality of the card when I get them! If you are like me and starting to think about your family christmas card, click on one of the links below to learn more about Shutterfly and see what they have to offer! My favorite card right now is the Monogram Snowman! I can't wait to fill each block with the faces of my sweet little boys.
Well, we are 3 weeks into the school year and so far, so good. The boys love their teachers and are pretty happy to be going every morning. I can't believe that I have a 1st and 3rd grader! Only one more year with Ethan and he will be off to Pre-K! Out first day of school this year was so rainy that I couldn't even walk the boys in, so our pictures were taken inside the van right before they jumped out at parent drop-off. Luckily I was able to get some good ones the second day!
Most times I feel like I am blogging just for myself, but since it seems like as a good a way as any to keep track of my family's events, then I guess I'll just keep at it. So, here is what is up with the Jacksons!
We switched from Myakka El. to Suncoast Academy about 8 weeks ago, and it is hands down one of the best decisions I have ever made. My kids have never been happier and are learning like crazy, and except for the serious amount of fuel I am using to get them to and from, I could not be happier either!
Reece is officially a thumb sucker, which has to be the cutest thing I have ever seen! NO MORE BINKIES EVER IN MY HOME! Need i say more.
Ethan is totally and completely potty trained! He is still in Pull-ups at night but has not had an accident EVEN ONCE! That makes this momma very happy!
Trace us wanting to join 4-H and Odyssey of the Mind....we'll have to see if I'm up for both!
Austin is reading like crazy and I am so thrilled to see him enjoying and excelling at something that I have always enjoyed so much!
So, that's us in a nutshell right now. I'll right again soon!
So, in Florida this year we have had an unreasonable amount of cold weather. This weather inspired my boys to start having campfires! They love to get all bundled up, build a fire, have hot cocoa, and make smores! I love these little things that are creating great memories for us!
So, since I cannot possibly catch this thing up, here is a quick update! In the last 4 months we have.....had a baby, had 2 teeth knocked out, had 2 baby teeth come in, learned to use the potty, changed schools, & changed jobs. It's up to you to figure out who did what =)
Now, onto what is going on at the moment. I was thinking yesterday how by the time Reece is potty trained I will have been buying diapers nonstop for 10 years! I am not willing to figure out what the dollar amount for that would be, but I am pretty sure Pampers and Huggies owe me some serious coupons!
Also, on the same subject, why do I freak out about potty training? So far, all three boys have basically potty trained themselves right around the time they turned 3! Maybe with Reece I'll relax a little!
You probably already know our story, but here is the short version for those that don't. Michael and I met in 6th Grade at Sarasota Christian. We started dating as Juniors in high school and we were married Dec. 30, 2000. We had our first little angel Trace on July 18, 2002. Our second, Austin, on November 26, 2003, our third, Ethan on March 2, 2007, and finally...... our fourth, Reece, on Nov. 10, 2009. In between all of that Michael started working as a Sarasota County Sheriff's Deputy on Sept. 11, 2003. He is currently working a School Resource Officer and is really enjoying the change from patrol. I am lucky enough to get to stay home with Ethan and Reece, now that our older two are in school all day! We have had our share of trials over the last few years and as hard as these things were to get through, I think it has made our marriage stronger and helped us realize that we can survive anything.
