Usually Michael takes part in the parade as an honor to his brother Kyle who served in the Marines and then the Army as a Kiowa helicopter pilot. We lost Kyle on January 13, 2006 in Iraq. This year Michael opted to spend the day watching the parade with us rather than walking and we really enjoyed the time together. Here are a few pictures from the day and also a picture of Kyle with his helicopter that he sent to us shortly after arriving in Iraq. We are so lucky to have known and loved someone so brave and willing to fight for our freedoms.

The Jacksonshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12915122773815883510noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-961523927738007335.post-19546873304101089502011-05-01T17:18:00.000-07:002011-05-01T17:24:09.664-07:00Easter 2011

We had a great Easter! It's more that when I first started, but not much yet. My 5k that I wanted to do by my 30th in August seems very far off. But, I am pressing onward and hopefully I will get there. We have been trying to go every evening, and it's so nice to see the kids having fun riding bikes (minus the wrecks of course), and getting to walk/run along and chat with my hubby. It's the ONLY time of the day where Reece is just sits, sucks his thumb, and enjoys being still. If u have any running advice or positive thoughts please comment for me! I could use all of that I can get =)The Jacksonshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12915122773815883510noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-961523927738007335.post-44497004142616918532011-04-11T16:19:00.000-07:002011-04-11T16:28:26.436-07:00Migraine FreeOkay, so this one is going to be about me. It does affect my kiddos though, so I think I'll get away with it. I gave up soda in September and other than a few falls off the wagon, I have been soda free for 7 months. I did it partially because I know how bad they are for you and because I was hoping I would lose a few pounds because of it. But, mostly I wanted to see if it cut down on my migraines. I have suffered with migraines since i was about 5 year old and with the exception of my pregnancies with Trace, Austin, and Ethan, I have had at least 1 a week my whole life. I won't even get into how many and how bad they were while I was preggo with Reece, but lets just say IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A SIGN OF WHAT HE WOULD BE LIKE! So, back to the reason for this lovely little post......it took a while (4-5 months) to notice a real difference but over the last 4 weeks, my Migraines have all but disappeared! I have had a few minor ones, but nothing like what I have suffered with my whole life! I can't believe it took all this time to figure this out and for it to be something as simple and easy to give up as soda!The Jacksonshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12915122773815883510noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-961523927738007335.post-63731872568030453782011-04-10T14:19:00.000-07:002011-04-10T14:27:04.615-07:00Where did he hear that one?A little background before I tell the story. Everytime we get in the car Ethan immediatly asks us "what do you want to count"? It doesn't matter what we suggest he always picks something else. It's either semi-trucks, dump trucks, red cars, white cars, barricades, or the dreaded power poles (there are LOTS of those).

So, this morning on the way to church he asks us and I suggest semi's, daddy suggests punch buggies, Trace chimes in with light poles (on Clark road). Take a look at how many light poles are on Clark the next time you drive down it. So, Ethan decided on grass, yes you read that correctly, grass! So he starts counting and he does great up to 12 but then he starts skipping around 21, 22, 23, 29, 30, 40, 56, and then he bursts out with "20 hundred......... I won.......BOO-YA"! I can only assume his brothers taught him the phrase BOO-YA!The Jacksonshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12915122773815883510noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-961523927738007335.post-85310199062642878322011-04-09T20:20:00.000-07:002011-04-09T20:28:47.288-07:00Once a day (well..........)maybe I'll get in a post a day, or at least that's my goal. I figured I'll aim high and even if I don't quite get there I'll come very very close. My goal is to get something on here that happens in my crazy house everyday. There may not always be pictures because that just takes too long and my time comes at a very high premium! You'll have to check out my FB for the pictures of all the crazy little things we do! I want to remember all these small things and since journals are not my thing, maybe this is. Prepare yourself for the good, the bad, the ugly, the gross, and possibly the scary!

Today we decorated for Easter at our house. My kids are very big on putting up decorations for every holiday. We start with Halloween, then Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's day, St. Patty's day, and finally we wrap up with Easter. Trace was sleeping over at my mom and dad's, so we had Ethan and Austin to help. I love to watch where they choose to put things! All the little stuffed animals in one place, all the plastic eggs in another! I always make some minor adjustments after they go to bed, but they are just so proud of themselves when they get done! How lucky am I to have BOYS that get as excited about decorating as I do? Quite!The Jacksonshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12915122773815883510noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-961523927738007335.post-43903700587702460492011-04-03T12:31:00.000-07:002011-04-03T12:56:41.887-07:00Run for the Sun<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 191px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-G5QtwyJ_WAo/TZjQ6LhU0bI/AAAAAAAAALw/Oxu83EStfVw/s320/IMAG0906.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5591448635324027314" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 191px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2K8XIHR53BU/TZjQ5xXzMGI/AAAAAAAAALo/cGeG91W7vsI/s320/IMAG0905.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5591448628304752738" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 191px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wDL_4LgHGP8/TZjQ5mZQ3OI/AAAAAAAAALg/feCL-vnHVsk/s320/IMAG0892.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5591448625358101730" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 191px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SWqofxD9kNA/TZjQ5RwDqrI/AAAAAAAAALY/ThDzAjt5Onw/s320/IMAG0898.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5591448619816561330" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 191px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-q_jsxISVMH8/TZjQ5fF3WWI/AAAAAAAAALQ/DWYJ6Ri_gl0/s320/IMAG0886.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5591448623397689698" />
The boys had their Jog-a-Thon last month at school. Ethan and I were able to spend the day counting laps, handing out Popsicle's, and even running a few laps with them. Austin ran 25 laps and Trace ran 35! I am so proud of them for running almost the whole thing (40 min) and keeping a smile on their faces (well, most of the time). They enjoyed a freezer pop after their races and Ethan lucked out because he got to have one with each of his brothers. It was lots of fun and the weather was awesome. This is definitely one of our favorite events at Suncoast!The Jacksonshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12915122773815883510noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-961523927738007335.post-33978741799954394402011-04-02T09:24:00.000-07:002011-04-02T09:35:35.828-07:00Costumes<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 191px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-TwgXfynNrWc/TZdQQzshV6I/AAAAAAAAAKg/zjMV_QSzUTs/s320/IMAG0940.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5591025712088831906" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 191px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-P8dU1KlklZ0/TZdPQahdYVI/AAAAAAAAAKY/GW8s26fqsAI/s320/IMAG0761.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5591024605819920722" />
Ethan loves to dress up. It was very last minute, but it just seemed like the right time and they had been begging to go. They thought we were going to the zoo so we just got them up really early and headed toward Orlando. When we were almost there I pulled out some Disney Character Silly Bands I had bought. I started giving them to them 1 at a time and it didn't click until I gave them the Mickey one. Trace was the first to catch on, but them I gave them a Mickey key chain and that did it! We had a really awesome day and the the weather was so perfect. It was in the 70's and a little overcast. I don't think I can ever go to Disney during the summer again after this trip! We rode pretty much everything including all of us going on Thunder Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Buzz Lightyear, Stitch's Alien Encounter. Austin and I rode Space Mountain together, which was so exciting for him and I! I love having kids big enough to do all these fun things with =) We came home very tired, very late at night, and with much emptier pockets, but we made memories that were worth every yawn that we yawned and dollar that we spent!The Jacksonshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12915122773815883510noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-961523927738007335.post-34840816747058141352011-03-30T12:04:00.000-07:002011-03-30T12:09:05.518-07:00More b-ball pictures<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-L49C6nmdAgE/TZN_w1_WYcI/AAAAAAAAAIo/w3WY61a6uVk/s320/P1140044.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5589952039600153026" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YEGktqXS9-k/TZN_wrUuZZI/AAAAAAAAAIg/EC4xgtt8ku0/s320/P1140031.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5589952036737017234" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pNqQRa1UaLA/TZN_wSSiyDI/AAAAAAAAAIY/BF--9NMIlHI/s320/P1140036.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5589952030016981042" />The Jacksonshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12915122773815883510noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-961523927738007335.post-52105420040791440252011-03-30T11:55:00.000-07:002011-03-30T12:03:59.082-07:00B-Ball!<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 227px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4eJ3l2cO1Vs/TZN9KhfgW8I/AAAAAAAAAIQ/i1Y-v7qk9J0/s320/EK_0002.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5589949182239595458" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 227px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4UtmZSsTIFs/TZN9KavhVQI/AAAAAAAAAII/zlICaN2C8iY/s320/EK_0001.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5589949180427719938" />

The Boys had a great time playing basketball at Sarasota Baptist. They started in December and finished up right before spring break. It was a really awesome experience all the way around. They ended us with the best coaches, Trace had Mr. Crump who is the principle at their school. It was such a great opportunity for them to get to know each other better. Austin had Mr. Longenecker who teaches 5th grade at Suncoast. What great coaches and role models they were for the boys. Ethan made a new friend too, Mr. Longenecker's son, Gavin. Trace and Austin learned so much about playing b-ball and the fact that they pray during practice and games just really makes it such a good and safe environment for them to be in. New friends, new skills, and fun! No, it's not quite time to start thinking about dragging out the Christmas lights and decorations, but it's the time that my family starts thinking about getting our family Christmas picture taken and ordering our cards! For the last few years we have ordered from Shutterfly and I have been so impressed with the choices they offer and the quality of the card when I get them! If you are like me and starting to think about your family christmas card, click on one of the links below to learn more about Shutterfly and see what they have to offer! My favorite card right now is the Monogram Snowman! I can't wait to fill each block with the faces of my sweet little boys.

www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery/cards-stationery/monogram-snowman-christmas-5x7-photo-card-5x7-photo?sortType=1&storeNode=93480

www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery

www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery/christmas-photo-cardsThe Jacksonshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12915122773815883510noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-961523927738007335.post-76315266510585857272010-09-11T11:44:00.000-07:002010-09-11T11:55:47.591-07:00It's a new school year!<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 191px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_5_PTnjeU0O8/TIvQT3PoGtI/AAAAAAAAAHQ/QlSdryOME70/s320/IMAG0197.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5515731208310889170" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 191px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_5_PTnjeU0O8/TIvQTBRL1OI/AAAAAAAAAHI/-wsV7Uw_UpE/s320/IMAG0195.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5515731193821910242" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 191px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_5_PTnjeU0O8/TIvQSNDMaTI/AAAAAAAAAHA/zVBlo2wzOUo/s320/IMAG0194.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5515731179804584242" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 191px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_5_PTnjeU0O8/TIvQRs1jlpI/AAAAAAAAAG4/ZxYOD7ZLWO8/s320/IMAG0188.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5515731171157448338" />

Well, we are 3 weeks into the school year and so far, so good. The boys love their teachers and are pretty happy to be going every morning. I can't believe that I have a 1st and 3rd grader! Only one more year with Ethan and he will be off to
Pre-K! So, here is what is up with the Jacksons!

We switched from Myakka El. to Suncoast Academy about 8 weeks ago, and it is hands down one of the best decisions I have ever made. My kids have never been happier and are learning like crazy, and except for the serious amount of fuel I am using to get them to and from, I could not be happier either!

Reece is officially a thumb sucker, which has to be the cutest thing I have ever seen! NO MORE BINKIES EVER IN MY HOME! Need i say more.
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_5_PTnjeU0O8/S9nIuoSJcbI/AAAAAAAAAFI/OAjXxIj65pg/s320/P3068410.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5465620326203879858" />

Ethan is totally and completely potty trained! This weather inspired my boys to start having campfires! They love to get all bundled up, build a fire, have hot cocoa, and make smores! I love these little things that are creating great memories for us!The Jacksonshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12915122773815883510noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-961523927738007335.post-67077753510736459032010-03-17T04:40:00.000-07:002010-03-17T05:26:33.615-07:00Never gonna catch up!<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_5_PTnjeU0O8/S6DCGAEeqtI/AAAAAAAAAEQ/hrCDJbrqpR4/s320/P3138415.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5449568957472090834" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_5_PTnjeU0O8/S6DCFRkMpfI/AAAAAAAAAEI/t_iJ5NjJLM0/s320/P3148440.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5449568944988661234" />
So, since I cannot possibly catch this thing up, here is a quick update! In the last 4 months we have.....had a baby, had 2 teeth knocked out, had 2 baby teeth come in, learned to use the potty, changed schools, & changed jobs. It's up to you to figure out who did what =)

Now, onto what is going on at the moment. I was thinking yesterday how by the time Reece is potty trained I will have been buying diapers nonstop for 10 years! I am not willing to figure out what the dollar amount for that would be, but I am pretty sure Pampers and Huggies owe me some serious coupons!

Also, on the same subject, why do I freak out about potty training? So far, all three boys have basically potty trained themselves right around the time they turned 3! Maybe with Reece I'll relax a little!The Jacksonshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12915122773815883510noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-961523927738007335.post-69541042809796536022009-06-17T12:32:00.000-07:002009-06-17T12:45:02.451-07:00What's new with us...
sorry this one is sideways!

17 weeks

Ethan is a cowboy at VBS

This one was too funny not to post!

So sorry it has been a month since I last wrote anything, but we have been super busy. Between end of the year festivities, Cub Scout Camp, VBS, and my every growing belly I have just not been able to find the time. Right now we are enjoy a few weeks of doing nothing before we leave for our long overdue vacation July 10! I can't wait. Even more exciting, we are having our Ultrasound on Monday and will hopefully find out whether there is a little boy or girl in there. Very Very exciting. Here are some pics of out life from the last few weeks. No rhyme or reason to them whatsoever!

The Jacksonshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12915122773815883510noreply@blogger.com0
